Introducing AMD Ryzen 9000 Lineup: High-Performance CPUs Now Ready for Purchase!

AMD’s new Ryzen 9000 series looks promising, with a powerful Zen 5 architecture ready to push your productivity and gaming to the next level. Now, the new CPUs are starting to arrive at stores.

AMD has officially launched its highly anticipated Ryzen 9000 desktop processors . They are based on the new Zen 5 architecture promises significant performance improvements over its predecessor, Zen 4, particularly in productivity tasks and gaming.

The Ryzen 9000 series includes four new desktop processors: the 16-core 9950X, the 12-core 9900X, the 8-core 9700X, and the 6-core 9600X. These chips are compatible with existing AM5 motherboards, making upgrading a breeze for current users. For those in need of a new motherboard, AMD is also releasing X870 and X870E chipsets with USB 4.0 support, PCIe 5 Gen 5 compatibility, and enhanced EXPO memory overclocking. You should have no problem throwing these chips into an existing AM5 motherboard with a BIOS update, however.

The chips had already been announced, but what’s important here is that we now have pricing and availability information for them. The lineup is getting started with the Ryzen 5 9600X and the Ryzen 7 9700X , which are launching for $279 and $359, respectively. As we mentioned previously, these will give you 6 cores and 8 cores, respectively, as well as clock speeds going over the 5 GHz mark. These chips are available starting today, August 8th. If you would like the more powerful chips instead, the Ryzen 9 9900X and the Ryzen 9 9950X, those will go for $499 and $649, respectively, and will be available starting next week, August 15th.
